STAFF EMPLOYMENT:

​POSITIONS:​                            REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Director                   Pre-plans and implements summer camp activities and programs-must be a great leader - manages all summer staff counselors, willing to go beyond everyday task.

​Unit Leader (male/female)*            Oversee daily cabin living for campers

​Cabin Lead Counselor                     Assists Unit Leader in daily cabin living

Activity Instructor*                          (documented experience required)

​Arts & Crafts                                   Daily activity group leader

Games                                             Daily activity group leader

​Performing arts                              Daily activity group leader

​General Counselor                          Assist campers through daily activity schedule & cabin living

​Camp Nurse*                                  *Registered Nurse required or better

​Lead Cook*                                       Manages kitchen and staff. Food preparation and clean-up for up to 60 guests. (*documented food service experience required).

Weekday /Weekend Cooks            Food preparation & clean-up for up to 60 guests.  (documented food service experience required).

Maintenance Assistance                 Assists in summer maintenance program.

Lifeguard                                         Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required.

​QUALIFICATIONS:

All applications must be 18 years of age. The qualified applicant must have previous experience for upper level* positions.

TRAINING:

​A one week required Orientation and training program prepares and familiarizes staff with the responsibilities of working with individuals who have visual impairments and / or other disabilities, CPR and FIRST AID Certification are required during this week for staff who do not already carry a current certification.  Specific programs, daily scheduling, rotation assignments, policies, and procedures are reviewed in detail prior to working with campers.

EXPECTATIONS:

​Staff members of the Georgia Lions' Camp are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. Employment at the camp will be challenging, demanding and fun on both physical and emotional levels.

SUMMER WAGES:

​Pay is based on previous camp related experience and/or current certifications. In some instances the Camp will pay for a certification (i.e. lifeguard) in exchange for summer employment.
